Grab a Broom
Welcome to the first issue of Tech Journal in 2024. Last year felt like an endless whirlwind of AI advancements and possibilities, and we believe this is the year to put some of those possibilities into practice.
No matter what you think of the generative AI craze, it has confirmed one truth: Organizations that keep up with their technology ecosystem are best prepared to outpace the competition.
However, as any IT decision-maker can attest, “keeping up” is no small feat. Many leaders have seen their digital transformation ambitions blockaded by unexpected — and possibly unseen — challenges.
Between the vision and promising returns on investment is a pathway gnarled in obstacles. Chief among them is technical debt.
It’s a messy prohibitor, but not a lost cause. In fact, our experts will show you how to view technical debt as an opportunity. They’ll coach you on how to expose, untangle and strategically wrangle it.
We know, too, that technology isn’t the only barrier to growth. You can’t progress technology without also progressing people.
Generative AI is a tantalizing avenue to achieve a number of business outcomes — from optimizing processes to improving customer and employee experiences. However, we know from surveys and client conversations there’s work to do around generative AI training. Employees are hungry for directions.
Speaking of directions — a lot of transformation journeys start with the cloud. Trying to decide which cloud or how best to migrate can cause a lot of decision-makers to feel stuck before they even begin.
So now you’re wondering, what’s the answer to overcome these obstacles and reach results? Grab a broom. It’s time to start sweeping.
For many organizations, that means taking the time to build — and nurture — the right foundations. The work to uncover and strategically address technical debt isn’t simple — but it’s necessary. Auditing and cleaning up your data estate isn’t quick — but it’s valuable. Digital transformation is never easy — but it’s worth it.
We hope this issue of Tech Journal will inspire you to take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We invite you to share your feedback, insights and stories with us, and to join our growing community of tech enthusiasts and innovators.
Thank you for your continued support and readership.
P.S. What do you think of the cover art? We created it with generative AI (and a lot of prompt engineering).
Sincerely,
